In March–April 2015 representatives of the EUROTRADUS translation company introduced students and lecturers of Vilnius University, Mykolas Romeris University and Kaunas University of Technology to Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and Machine Translation software and the possibilities for using them.

More than fifty students and lecturers from the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree Translation and Localisation programmes attended the lectures at each university. They learnt about the history and development of translation technology and current trends. Workshops on the use of CAT tools were also arranged. There were discussions with university lecturers concerning the possibility of making wider use of CAT tools during the education process.

We will continue our cooperation with Lithuanian higher education institutions in order to familiarize future graduates with the latest trends in the translation market.
